Barbara Dawn Baker Barbara Dawn Baker, age 57, a resident of Hamilton, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Missouri. Barbara was born the daughter of Maxwell and Juanita (Osborn) Ellis on October 23, 1959, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Dennis Randall "Randy" Baker on February 14, 1992, in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 10, 2010. Barbara loved writing, and was currently working on a novel. She started writing poetry when she was a child. Barbara was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing the violin. Survivors include her mother, Juanita Ellis of Hamilton, Missouri; one daughter, Sylvia Nikes of Shelton, Washington; three sisters, Martha Garlock of Hamilton, Missouri, Nola Meyer and husband Don of Houston, Texas, and Judith Geiger and husband Skip of Branson, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Maxwell Ellis; and her husband, Randy Baker. Graveside services will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Breckenridge, Missouri, on Monday, June 19, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Pitts Funeral Home, Breckenridge, Missouri, on Monday, June 19, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, June 18, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., and on Monday, June 19, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Pitts Funeral Home, Breckenridge, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Barbara Baker Memorial Fund and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
