Ansel Byrle Copple, age 90, a resident of Liberty, Missouri, a former resident of Breckenridge, Missouri passed away at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. He was born on May 14, 1919, the son of William Frederick and Juanita Irene (Bryan) Copple in rural Breckenridge, Missouri. He was enlisted in the United States Coast Guard from 1941 until 1946 and served in World War II. On May 11, 1946 he married Clastine Lionberger in Chillicothe, Missouri. She preceded him in death on February 20, 2008. Byrle and Clastine lived in Breckenridge, Missouri from 1949 to 2000. While in Breckenridge, Byrle was active in the community and served on the City Board, participated in the planning committee of the annual Street Fair and was a member of American Legion Post No. 363. They were members of the Breckenridge Methodist Church where he served on various boards and became the honorary handyman. Byrle and Clastine moved to Liberty, Missouri in 2000 and were members of the Liberty United Methodist Church. Byrle resided at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, Missouri for last year and half. Survivors include one daughter, Vicki and husband Dr. Robert Haas of Liberty, Missouri; two granddaughters, Whitney and husband James Otto of Seattle, Washington; and Erin and husband Michael Colletti of Chicago, Illinois. He is also survived by one great granddaughter, Emerson Otto. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one brother. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Rosehill Cemetery in Breckenridge, Missouri at 10:30 a.m. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Liberty United Methodist Church in Liberty, Missouri starting at 6:30 p.m. with a visitation and family fellowship to follow at the church. Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Breckenridge, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Hospital Foundation and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601. Arrangments are under the direction of Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri.
