Alta Lorene Maupin

Alta Lorene Maupin Alta Maupin, age 88, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at her residence. Alta was born the daughter of Joseph Marit and Martha Lorene (Helms) Gitthens on June 8, 1924, in Weatherby, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Raymond Maupin on March 23, 1952, in Breckenridge, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2009. Alta attended Turning Point Church. She taught Sunday School and delivered the KC Star newspaper. Alta enjoyed canning vegetables, gardening, listening to gospel music, and her family. Survivors include three sons, David Ray Maupin of Springfield, Missouri, Marvin D. Maupin of Wheeling, Missouri, Larry W. Maupin of Chillicothe, Missouri; two daughters, Connie Sue Hartwig and husband David of Bogard, Missouri, and Linda Kay Maupin of Chillicothe, Missouri; two brothers, Virl Gitthens of Osborn, Missouri, and Vernon Gitthens of Springfield, Missouri; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; five nephews; and one dog autumn. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one infant son, and one niece. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, March 4, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
