Alice "Madelon" Guffey, age 79, a resident of Breckenridge, MO, Passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 5, 2010. She was born the daughter of Charles Gus and Alice (Thompson) Murray on June 14, 1931 in Caldwell County. She was a 1949 graduate of Breckenridge High School. On June 5, 1949, she married Robert Marcus Guffey in Breckenridge Missouri. They had two daughters, Sherylyn and Cindy. Madelon lived in the Breckenridge area her entire life. She was an active member of Grandview Church for 61 years until her health declined. She enjoyed instructing others, as evidenced by her abilities as a Sunday School Teacher, 4-H leader, and Kindergarten teacher. In addition to providing beautiful clothing for her family, she often used her sewing talents to help create costumes for church programs and variety shows. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Guffey of the home; two daughters Sherylyn Price and husband Mark of Cape Coral, Florida, and Cindy McBee and husband Mark of Hamilton, Missouri; sister Jean Guffey of Breckenridge, Missouri; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Alice and stepfather Henry Losh; one brother Charles "Winkie" Murray, and grandson Tim McBee. A Memorial service will be held at Grandview Church in Breckenridge, Missouri on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a family visitation on Friday, evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pitts Funeral Home in Breckenridge, Missouri. Friends may call after 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at the Guffey Cemetery in rural Breckenridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Guffey Cemetery, Grandview Church or Hedrick Medical Center Hospice, and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
