Alice Irene Atwell

Alice Atwell, age 80, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday May 7, 2012 at Indian Hills Retirement Village in Chillicothe, Missouri. Alice was born the daughter of Vincent Joseph Kinsella and Madelene (Anderson) Kinsella on October 15, 1931 in Wheeling, Missouri. On January 21, 1954 she married John Atwell in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1994. Alice graduated from the St. Joseph Academy in St. Joseph, Missouri in 1949. She worked at Southwestern Bell before retiring to raise her family. She later worked at Morningside Nursing Home in Chillicothe, Missouri as a nurse's aide then retired to the 40 acre farm. Survivors include eight daughters; Teresa Coyne of Kansas City, Missouri, Tamara Werkmeister and husband Wayne of Columbia, Missouri, Kim Atwell of Chillicothe, Missouri, Shawn Switzer and husband Mark of Mooresville, Missouri, Stacy Allen and husband Michael of Stilwell, Kansas, Audra Pulliam and husband Mark of Columbia, Missouri, Nicole Cofer and husband Graham of Venice, Florida, and Erica Whiteside and husband Bruce of Chillicothe, Missouri, ten grandchildren; Jonathan Michael Coyne, Michael Bartlett, Andrew Pepper, Jeffery Pulliam, Zachary Pulliam, Cody Pulliam, Morgan Atwell, Ross Cofer, Kylie Dowell, and Sydnie Whiteside. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one daughter Valeria Jo Atwell. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 11th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. A Parish Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. with a family visitation to follow on Thursday at the Lindley Funeral Home Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call after 12 noon until 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 8 a.m. until 12 noon on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Columban's Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri and/or Livingston County 4-H and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home P.O.
