Alice Elizabeth Allen

Alice Elizabeth "Betty" Allen, age 86, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, Missouri. Betty was born May 2, 1924 the daughter of Raymond and Frances (Klein) Rodgers in Lacona, Iowa. She was a 1941graduate of Lacona High School in Lacona, Iowa. On December 6, 1944, she married Orval Allen in Trenton, Missouri. He preceded her in death in October 1973. Betty was a bookkeeper at Henderson Produce, PN Hirsch and Company, Montgomery Ward, Gambles, and Empire Gas. Betty is survived by one daughter, Bette J. Atwell of Chillicothe, Missouri; one grandson, Allen Atwell and wife Julia of Prairie Village, Kansas; one step daughter-in-law Susie Allen of Chillicothe, Missouri; four step grandchildren, Tom Allen of Liberty, Missouri, Ron and Kirk Allen of the state of California, and Tracey Allen of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Toni Cheyanna Atwell and Bryce Atwell both of Prairie Village, Kansas; and several step great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, one brother Allen Rodgers, two stepsons Paul Allen and Orval Dean Allen, and one step grandson Tim Allen. Graveside Services will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Chillicothe, Missouri on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
