Albert Smith

Albert Smith   Albert Smith was born October 2, 1941, at Ford City, Missouri to Ernest Smith and Dixie (Haack) Smith. He met his Savior April 14, 2017, at his home in Braymer, Missouri.   He grew up in Little Ford City where he attended Ford City one-room school and graduated from King City High School in 1959. He attended college at Northwest Missouri State College and graduated from Peru State College, Peru, Nebraska. He got his master's degree at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He taught school two years in Winston, Missouri, one at Palisade, Nebraska and one in Burlington Junction, Missouri. He served in the United States Army National Guard in Missouri and Nebraska. He had several jobs but his largest term of employment was at Western Missouri Correctional Center in Cameron, Missouri where he worked 21 years as a corrections officer and assistant case worker.   He had a lifetime love of history and has memberships, Braymer Historical Society, Caldwell County Historical Society, the Sons of the American Revolution and several others. He did extensive genealogy work and traced his ancestry to William Bradford and the Mayflower.   He was living in Nebraska City, Nebraska, when he met and married Louise Lundstedt. They had two daughters, Carrie of Kansas City, and Emily of Lawson, Missouri. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Alice Smith of Cook, Nebraska and Fern Heyde of Stanberry, Missouri and sister-in-law, Marian Weatherd of Hemple, Missouri, seven nieces and nephews and several grand nieces and nephews, plus several cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two steps fathers and a brother Earl Weatherd.   Funeral Services will be held at the Braymer Baptist Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, April 17, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Braymer Baptist Church, on Monday, April 17, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in The Ford City Cemetery, King City, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, Wednesday Night Children's Program, and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
